SANTA CATARINA VIEWPOINT (ADAMASTOR)
Best known for "Adamastor" by the locals (a mythical giant based on Greco-Roman mythology, referred by Luís de Camões in "Os Lusíadas," represented there by a sculpture made by Júlio Vaz Junior 1877-1963).
Is the meeting point of Bica/Bairro Alto, was recently remodeled, one of the best views over the River Tagus. It has a small bar / kiosk and esplanade, on your right is the Noobai café with a nice terrace and snacks.
Visit in the Tours:
This elevator was inaugurated on 28 June 1892 and its route is known as the most typical of the city. In 2002 it was classified as National Monument.
