MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY & SCIENCE
The Museum has its origins in the Royal Museum of Natural History and Botanical Garden, created in the eighteenth century, but is located in a space that lodges the educational institutions since the seventeenth century.
Its mission is to promote public understanding and curiosity about nature and science, bringing the University to the Society.
This mission is achieved through the use of their collections and the university heritage: research, organization of exhibitions, conferences and other scientific activities, educational, cultural and leisure activities.
The museum also integrate the Botanical Garden of Lisbon (on site) and the Lisbon Astronomical Observatory (Tapada da Ajuda in the Superior Institute of Agronomy).
